Hey guys,

I want to fit some engineered wood on my bathroom wall.
Am I going to have problems?
The wall is the opposite wall to my shower, and extraction fan. The 'wood' wall will just have a free standing bath next to it. If I leave a good enough expansion gap, and pin it to death, could this work?
I dont want to waste a grand on this, but i think it will look pretty cool, and really want it.
Could this work?? Or is there anything i could do to help prevent any future problems?

Andy

Any of you guys out there heard anything about "Free Fitting" coming in at carpetright ??.

The rumour I heard is that it is coming, and fitters will receive less money for fitting!. Storey Carpets (carpetright in disguise) are already running free fitting and the fitter gets £2 sqM instead of £2.64.

OK times are hard but why penalise the fitter??. Fuel and running costs are going up all the time and work gets more scarce.

Bond going up to £500 as well.

Doesn't make sense to me.

Bank holiday was my first day back because of an infection and bursitis, probably shouldn't have gone back but felt like i had enough time off. I used the pads that day and thought they were very comfortable and kneeling with my pain was actually ok. By the end of the day my knees were hurting but thats 8 hours of solid kneeling.
Tuesday was a lot better, same hours worked by the end of the day had a bit of pain .
The rest of the week , no problems at all.
can you latex in them? yes, Absolutely no problem, done it a few times this week and not got in the way at all.
Do you sweat in them ? Yes i did, don't think this can be avoided they are a dense foam pad almost rubbery.
Have to take shares out in fabreeze i think.
do they pinch behind the knee? no , to be honnest, didn't even no i was wearing them by the end of the week.
How do you fit?you can fit both ways, on your toes and toes flat to the floor, feel a bit awkward toes bent to the floor but if you loosen the calf strap you can fit like this, i did both but as soon as i went with curled toes i imediatly corrected myself and toes went flat to the floor.
are they comfortable? yes, i bought the 07 model with the 1 inch pads they are curved inside the pad so every so often i would fall over, sounds stupid but you do until you get used to them.
Do you have to keep correcting the position of the pads? Well, not really, maybe every hour or so i would check to see if they were still in place and most of the time they were. The straps are a little elasticated and have velcro to adjust the length and then the theres the quick release buckle so you don't need to keep adjusting.Have not tried shorts yet but i will tomorrow.
Can you fit a carpet with them on? don't no, to be honnest.i'd say yes, but thats only from what ive heard from others.
I got the final bill for them and it worked out as £190 plus customs tax so in total £225.
Are they worth it? to me, every single penny. i would buy these again in a heart beat i just wish i'd bought them sooner. They are a lot of money and i bought them as a last resort.Hopefully the end to knee pain.
Oh, latexing, i got latex to the pad, it's like a white leather, as soon as they had hardened a little i rubbed them, with them still on me, with my carbadendrum stone, i have a really good one that ive had for many years it took the latex of in seconds and pads were smooth again.
These are my opinions, every one is different so don't take this review as Gospel, they work for me and that's all that matters.

I went to look at a job on Friday. A lady rang to say she had had the carpet cleaned in January and it now needs stretching. This was a surprise as they usually shrink. I couldn't believe what I saw. In the lounge (about 6x4mt) there was a "bubble running the length of the room, it was 3" high!!!! and about 9" wide. I said I will sort it out next weekend for her. The job was done about 18 years ago by a company no longer trading. It's a heavily patterned floral Axminster, she has spoken to the cleaners and they are not being helpful at all.
So, I can sort it but has anyone else had such an experience after a cleaning job? has the guy used the wrong or too much chemical in the process?
I'm only interested in what went wrong, not how to fix the problem. Cheers all.

By the way, a Cracking F1 race and result today....
