Need some advice
I had my Brazilian cherry natural pre-finished hardwood flooring delivered. I believe The wood is significantly lighter than the sample I looked at. It is a tanish color and was hoping for color variations including deeper browns and reds. The flooring guy says over time it will develop those colors, but I am concerned! Do all Brazilian cherry woods darken over time? I will try and take some pictures of the wood later and post. Thanks!!

Re: Need some advice
I agree wi Pauly if you're not happy send it back just watch they don't have a disclaimer saying what you receive may differ slightly from the sample. Once you start installing they won't entertain a return as a colour variation won't be regarded as a fault.
As for the flooring developing these colours over time I'd doubt that. And how longs a piece of string ?

Re: Need some advice
Cherry is notorious for changing colour when exposed to natural light,i can only assume that this is no different.Your supplier will also tell you that as this is a natural product it will differ from the sample as no two trees produce identical grains & colours. If the sample has been kicking around for some time it will have had greater light exposure making it darker.
Good luck

Re: Need some advice
The wood will be miles different from the sample, don't worry it will darken in a matter of months.
Fresh cherry can look almost like a darkish beech but will end up a very rich red with lots of colour variation, it's normal for cherry.
If the sample in store has been on display for a while then I would guess it will be a good representation of how your floor will look.
You really want to give it 6 months at least before you see what a nice floor it is.
Your biggest worry with cherry will be the massive colour variation when you move furniture.
You will see the exact shape do the sofa, rug or whatever you move and it will look 20 shades lighter!!!!
